An open letter

Shut up
To the people who run the Jam on the River festival in Philadelphia:

A FAQ page that just says "Coming soon" isn't useful. Especially when it's the day of the festival and it still says "Coming soon".

I volunteered for a voter registration drive outside Jam on the River today. Jam on the River had been moved from its advertised location, and the gate opened an hour and a half after the advertised time.

Yep, from Penn's Landing to Festival Pier--this much was at least made clear to the people who had tickets, sorry if it didn't make it to you. One of the two headlining acts was going to play on Sunday (which makes sense, two headliners, one each day), but got moved to Saturday as well so they moved to a bigger location.

As for the time, as far as I know it was advertised as opening at 1pm--I showed up at 1:30 and it was already open, so maybe they told you something different there?

It was actually entertaining inside because it's sponsored by Captain Morgan and a good portion of the audience was clearly high school age. Of course, maybe they're trying to advertise to under 21 people, but I can imagine it had a negative impact on sales...

Oh, no worries. The organization I was volunteering for was right on top of things. I was merely joining your Jam on the River-festival-runners bashing.

(They had told us the gates would open at 11 am, by the way, but the gates actually opened at 12:30)
